Earl Lynn Vance (AB, Baylor University, 1924; MA, University of Pennsylvania, 1925) was on faculty at FSCW/FSU from 1928 to 1974, finishing his career with the rank of Full Professor. At various times he taught in the Department of Journalism and the Department and then College of Social Sciences. From the 1930s to the 1950s he was the advisor for the Flambeau and in 1990 was awarded the title of "Advisor Emeritus." He died on July 18, 1992.
